Tap into Noema's private SearxNG relay when you need fresh information. Web search complements on-device knowledge with current events, live stats, and source citations without sacrificing privacy.
How it works
Search without leaving chat
When armed, Noema decides whether to call the SearxNG relay during a response. The query runs remotely through our private proxy, but analysis and summarization happen locally so your context remains private.
Enable it
Turn on web search
- Open a conversation and tap the session settings icon.
- Toggle Enable Web Search.
- Look for the Web Search badge above the composer to confirm it is active.
Privacy
What gets sent
- Only the generated search query leaves your device.
- No chat history or personal identifiers are transmitted.
- Returned results are processed locally before being summarized.
When it triggers
Smart search cues
- Questions about breaking news or “latest” updates.
- Requests for current metrics, prices, or stats.
- Follow-ups where the model identifies gaps in its local knowledge.
Unlimited access
Every Noema feature—including web search—is free. There are no daily limits, paywalls, or upgrade prompts because our self-hosted SearxNG relay runs without usage fees.

- Be specific so SearxNG can surface the right context.
- Check the cited links when accuracy is critical.
- Disable web search if you are working fully offline.
