Noema Teams

A local-first internal knowledge assistant for your organization. Noema runs Large Language Models on each employee's iPhone, iPad, or Mac — offline-capable, private by default. Teams adds a company workspace on top: governed datasets, role-based permissions, and admin control over models, tools, and backends.

Your knowledge never becomes someone else's training data. Datasets live on company devices, retrieval happens on-device, and policy decides exactly what each role can use.

    How it works

You create a workspace and get a company code. Employees open Noema, go to Settings → Enterprise, enter the code and their work email, and verify with a one-time code. Their device registers and fetches a policy snapshot — which datasets, tools, model formats, specific models, and remote backends their roles allow. The app caches that policy and enforces it locally, even offline.

    Governed datasets

Upload handbooks, research, contracts, or course material to your workspace and assign them to roles. Permitted employees see them appear in Noema as company datasets — indexed and searched entirely on device through the same Retrieval-Augmented Generation pipeline Noema users already know. Files are hash-verified on download, stored in app-private storage, and removed when access is revoked.

    Roles, not rules-of-thumb

Default roles — Owner, Admin, Member, Research, Engineering, Finance, Legal, Teacher, Student, Volunteer — are ready out of the box and fully customizable. Per role you decide: which datasets are visible, which tools run (web retrieval, Python, memory, calculators), which model formats and specific models can load, which remote backends and endpoint types are reachable, whether remote inference is allowed at all, and whether the device must operate off-grid.

Enforced in the engine, not the interface

Policy checks sit inside Noema's execution paths. A disallowed tool doesn't run. A disallowed model doesn't load. A disallowed backend can't be called. If a role requires off-grid operation, the app's network kill switch engages — the same one consumer Noema uses — allowing only policy sync with your workspace. Expired policies degrade safely: cached restrictions stay in force and company datasets go dark until the device syncs again.

    Identity and access

Membership is tied to verified work email. Invite employees directly, restrict joining to your email domain, or require admin approval for every request. Each device is individually registered and individually revocable from the console. Single sign-on via OIDC is on the roadmap; v1 keeps identity simple and auditable.

    Admin console

Everything is managed from this site — no spreadsheets, no config files. Overview, Employees, Roles, Datasets, Models & Tools, Invites & Access, Devices, Settings, and an activity stream of administrative events. Telemetry stops there: Noema never sees your documents, prompts, or answers.

    Built for small organizations

Companies with internal knowledge that can't leave the building. Schools giving students a safe, governed assistant. Research groups working with embargoed data. Clinics, law practices, campaigns, nonprofits — teams that need private AI without losing control of internal knowledge or paying per token.

    Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Noema Teams cost?

Every workspace starts with a 30-day free trial for up to 20 seats — no credit card required. After the trial it's $6 per user/month billed annually, or $9 per user/month billed monthly. You only pay for the seats you buy, and there are never any per-token fees.

What happens when the free trial ends?

If you haven't subscribed, your workspace keeps working for a 7-day grace period. After that, enrolled devices stop receiving new policy and company datasets and the workspace pauses — subscribe any time to pick up exactly where you left off. The personal Noema app on each device is never affected.

How is a seat counted, and can I change seats later?

A seat is one active member. You choose how many seats to buy at checkout and can add or remove them anytime from the billing portal — changes are prorated. Removing an employee frees their seat. During the trial you can have up to 20 active members.

How do we pay, and can we cancel?

Payment is handled securely by Stripe — we never see or store your card details. You can switch between monthly and annual, change seats, or cancel anytime from the self-serve billing portal.

Does any data leave the device?

Company datasets are downloaded to each enrolled device and all retrieval and generation happen locally. Devices contact your workspace only to sync their policy and fetch datasets you've published. Roles can additionally require off-grid mode, which blocks all other network access.

    Can we operate fully offline?

Yes. Set 'require off-grid' on a role and Noema's network kill switch turns on for those employees — local models, local retrieval, no outbound traffic except policy sync with your workspace.

    What do you log?

The workspace keeps an administrative activity stream (invites, role changes, device registrations). Dataset contents, prompts, and answers are never logged or transmitted to Noema.

    How do we revoke access?

Revoke the device or remove the employee in the admin console. The device's token stops working immediately; at its next policy sync the app drops company datasets and enters a revoked state.

Do you support SSO or SCIM?

Not yet. v1 uses verified work email, admin invites, and optional admin approval. OIDC single sign-on is planned; SCIM and SAML come later.

    Windows or Android?

Not in the first release. iOS, iPadOS, and macOS first.
