    Get Noema running on your iPhone or iPad in just a few minutes. This guide walks through the prerequisites, download flow, and first-time setup so you can start chatting with on-device models fast.

    Before you install

    Minimum requirements

    • iOS & iPadOS: Version 17 or newer recommended for the latest ML optimizations.
    • Chipset: A13 Bionic or better delivers smooth inference and GPU offload.
    • Storage: Keep at least 5 GB free so you can download multiple quantized models.

    Heads up for older hardware

    Devices older than A13 can still run Noema, but large GGUF models will load slowly. Start with a 1–3B parameter model to balance quality and responsiveness.

    Install from the App Store

      Search for “Noema” or “Noema AI” on your iPhone or iPad.

      Authenticate with Face ID, Touch ID, or your password to start the download.

    Recommended starting model

    We recommend Qwen 3 1.7B as a first download. It fits comfortably on all supported devices, warms up quickly, and responds well for general tasks like drafting notes, email, or study prompts.

    Setup checklist

    • Download models while on Wi‑Fi to avoid large cellular transfers.
    • Keep Noema open during the first sync so embeddings and caches can finish building.
    • Free up memory by closing heavy apps before loading 7B+ models.
