Noema is now, and will remain, free for everyone. Every feature, every workflow and every optimization, including web search, is available without a subscription.
Why Noema is free
When we launched Noema, we believed private local AI should be accessible to everyone. By removing our premium tiers, we are doubling down on that. Starting today, every capability, including high-performance inference, workflow tools, document intelligence and web search, is included for all users at no cost.
Removing pricing tiers also removes friction. Noema now delivers the same experience to every person, which lets us focus on building the most capable local AI assistant we can without gating essential tools.
From Brave Search to our own SearXNG instance
Free web search meant rethinking how Noema delivers results. We moved away from the Brave Search API and now run our own SearXNG metasearch instance, hosted and maintained by us, which gives us control over cost, performance and privacy.
SearXNG combines results from public search providers. Queries are proxied through servers we manage instead of going from your device to each provider, and self-hosting removed per-query fees, which is what lets us offer search with no in-app quota.
Updated October 2026. This section originally described the service as log-free and said requests could never be stored or tied back to you. We have replaced that with what our privacy policy states: web search sends a generated query, not your whole conversation, and availability can be affected by upstream providers, rate limits or maintenance even though Noema imposes no in-app quota. In Noema 4.2, Noema Search is built in, and you can bring your own Brave, Tavily or Exa key if you prefer.
What this means for your privacy
Privacy is the foundation of what we build. Noema does not run analytics or advertising trackers, and the app does not ask you to create an account. Together with on-device inference, that keeps your work private by default.
We also updated our privacy documentation to describe the new architecture, so our policies match the infrastructure we run. Every user should be able to understand how their data is handled at each step.
All features, no restrictions
With the move to free, every optimization we have built ships to every user: FlashAttention acceleration, KV cache quantization, benchmark tooling, custom remote endpoints, document ingestion and workflow automation. There are no premium queues, no in-app quotas and no feature walls. If it exists inside Noema, you can use it.
The same applies to future releases. We ship new features without putting them behind paid plans, so you can rely on Noema without worrying about subscription renewals.
